Nakasendo Highway is a winding road along the Kiso River where travelers walked in the Edo period. The steep trail that stretched from “Magome-juku” to "Niekawa-juku" is called “Kiso Road”. There are eleven post-towns along the route. Even now, people who frequently cross the mountain and pass through that road can still talk about a lot of indispensable history of Kiso Valley.
